Bake the great pickle flavor into your chicken and taste the difference!
3 lbs. frying chicken, cut in serving pieces
salt and pepper
1 can (6 ounces) tomato paste
1 cup Nalley® dill pickle relish
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 tablespoons vinegar
3/4 teaspoon chili powder
1 teaspoon salt
1 1/3 cups water
Dredge chicken in flour, salt and pepper. Brown chicken in shallow hot shortening. Drain on paper towels. Arrange chicken in 2-quart casserole pan. Combine remaining ingredients and mix well. Pour over chicken. Cover and bake in 350° oven 1 hour, or until chicken is tender.
Makes 4 to 6 servings.
